On the 2nd February, The Commune held epic pop-up event, House of Vans. The day reflected Vans roots in sport, art, music and street culture.

House of Vans showcased Vans’ unique brand through many exciting attractions including DIY skate deck and grip tape design workshops, street markets with surf, skate and BMX stalls, and Sydney-based artists. Sydneysiders were out to indulge in complementary waffles and popcorn as well as customise their own Vans tote bags. Live music got the party pumping with evening performances from some of Australia’s top punk-rock bands including The Chats, West Thebarton, Pist Idiots and Totty.

Highlights of the day involved, appearances from skate boarding legend Tony Alva, as well as the Vans Skate, and BMX teams. Attendees were able to skate alongside these legends, and test out the Vans custom built-in skate park, and mini ramp!

The crowd was well fed with food trucks, Chur Burger, and El Taco Loco. Alongside Mothersky Coffee, who kept our buzz up, all night long.

Sydney’s House of Vans event could not have gone any better!
