The Royal Wedding

Once upon a time, a beautiful lady went from Suits to Royal suites. The Royal Wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry was witnessed on May 19th, by millions around the world with a box of tissues closely nearby. The historic ceremony took place at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle (who doesn’t want to get married in a castle?!) and the guest list comprised of 600 of their closest friends and family, who were lucky enough to be involved in the momentous occasion. Notable guests included; Oprah, George and Amal Clooney, Elton John, Serena Williams and the Beckham’s.

The gracefully elegant gown worn by the now Duchess of Sussex, was designed by Clare Waight Keller for Givenchy. The intricate silk veil was an impressive five metres long and two of her page boys sweetly carried the ends as she glided up the steps. The Duchess completed her look with a classic diamond tiara made in 1932 which was lent to her by the Queen.

The fairy tale wedding ended with the happily married couple riding in a horse drawn carriage through the streets of Windsor, with beaming smiles past the adoring crowds. Soon after returning home for an outfit change for the wedding dinner and reception, the Duchess stunned in a lily-white gown by Stella McCartney. The James Bond-like departure highlighted the Duke’s inherent gentlemen attitude as he led his new wife into a vintage Jaguar. As the glowing couple waved to onlookers, the Duchess flashed her stunning aquamarine ring which belonged to Princess Diana. They also acknowledged Princess Diana’s legacy through a choir performance of the soulful “Stand by Me” which was sung at her funeral.

The Duchess remained in line with the tradition, “something old, something borrowed, and something blue”, with the stunning tiara owned by the Queen and Princess’s Diana’s ring. The Royal wedding effortlessly combined tradition and modernity with style and provided hope to millions around the world. The next chapter of their fairy tale is met with anticipation and excitement!
