GLASS ISLAND REOPENING

FULLY SEATED (SOCIALLY DISTANCED) SPRING CRUISING FEAT. NEW FOOD & SIGNATURE COCKTAIL MENUS AND CONTACTLESS ORDERING EXPERIENCE WITH ME&U

With its bold Mediterranean inspired interior designed by AZBcreativeGlass Island became one of Sydney most talked about new venues overnight when it launched on Boxing Day last year. Now having been closed since March due to COVID the team behind Glass Island are excitedly preparing to reopen for Spring offering guests a fully seated cruising experience (socially distanced of course). The venue will open on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September and then every weekend throughout Spring.

With a large open plan middle and top deck, groups can now easily book a private table online and sit back and take in both the views and sea breeze whilst enjoying cocktails and food with their friends.

On the food front Glass Island is proud to announce a partnership with Simon Ekas Catering who have implemented a new weekend food menu as well as looking after Glass Island’s private event catering. Menu highlights include Simon’s take on the ‘Classic Cheeseburger’ focusing on only the best ingredients, including the world famous Martin’s Potato Bun (used by US Hamburger chain – Shake Shack), an incredible ‘Slow Roasted Beef Brisket Roll with horseradish’ and the dangerously moreish ‘cheeseburger spring rolls’. Freshly shucked Sydney Rock Oysters with a glass of champagne in hand and the sun on your face is still one of life’s simple pleasures.

“Simon Ekas Catering is proud to partner with Glass Island to deliver a menu featuring modern twists on good old-fashioned favourites. Fresh, high quality ingredients dominate the menu and will contribute to the overall standout Glass Island experience”. Simon Ekas, Director

Up and coming mixologist Chis Turvey (Glass Island/Employees Only) has given the cocktail menu a complete overhaul adding 10 fresh new signature cocktails to the menu including the aptly titled ‘Tan Lines & Tequila’ the ‘Riptide’, ‘Harbourside Sour’ and ‘Floral Reef’ which are all as visually appealing as they are delicious.

Glass Island’s guest’s safety comes first and foremast and the introduction of the revolutionary me&u contactless ordering system means that guests can now go straight to their table and tap onto the beacon to order from the full menu and pay directly from their mobile phone. This means they will no longer need to get up from the table, touch menus, stand in a queue at the bar, or wait to pay the bill if they don’t want to.

“It has been a challenging few months but we have been busy working hard behind the scenes to adapt our business model and redefine the Glass Island experience to deliver something that is not only COVID Safe but still a lot of fun. Whilst our guests may not currently be allowed to dance they can still cruise around Sydney Harbour in style, taking in some of the best views in the world whilst enjoying our new food and signature cocktail menu with their friends. Every little aspect of our customers experience has been carefully considered and we are excited to finally be able to welcome guests back on board to enjoy first class service in a stunning environment”. Scott Robertson, Managing Director

With 3 beautifully designed levels to explore and uninterrupted 360 degree views to take in there is no better way to cruise the iconic harbour.
